Middle School

Sixth Grade

We’re so excited to kick off Bulldog Book Blitz during the first week of November! On November 6, our sixth graders will travel to the Flagler Campus to read with our kindergarten and first-grade students. This special experience offers our oldest students the opportunity to step into leadership roles—as mentors, role models, and reading buddies—while sharing their love of learning with younger classmates. In addition to reading together, we have a fun, hands-on activity planned to make the visit even more memorable. This marks our first visit to the Flagler Cmapus this school year, and we’re eager to continue building this meaningful connection between our middle school leaders and their younger Bulldog friends.

Seventh Grade

In November, seventh graders will continue exploring Sean Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, focusing on Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind. Through this lesson, students are learning the importance of setting clear, attainable goals—academic, social, and emotional—that will guide them throughout the school year and help them prepare for upcoming student-led conferences. They will also participate in the second annual Bulldog Book Blitz, hosted by the English Department, where students in Grades 3–7 will have the exciting opportunity to earn a reading trip to the beach!

Eighth Grade

The 8th Grade is excited to participate in our annual outreach project — the Walk to End Alzheimer’s! Join us on Saturday, November 22nd, at Dreher Park in West Palm Beach as we walk together to raise awareness and support for a great cause. It’s a wonderful opportunity to make a difference, get some exercise, and enjoy time with friends. We hope to see you there!

Secondary School Process

Report Cards

Report cards will be available on Tuesday, November 11 and include academic and effort grades, completed community service hours, and teacher comments. Please note that the number on this report card indicates the number of hours earned in the first quarter; students have 9 weeks remaining to complete the semester requirement.

Effort grades reflect students’ engagement, preparation, and participation in class:

1 – Exceeding Expectations: Consistently goes above and beyond.
2 – Meeting Expectations: Consistently meets expectations.
3 – Not Meeting Expectations: Regularly unprepared or off task.

Please note that a “2” indicates a student is fully meeting expectations, and teachers reserve “1” for those students who consistently exceed them.

Map Testing

MAP score reports for students in Grade 6–8 will also be available on Bulldog Den on November 11. These reports offer insight into each student’s learning progress and growth in reading and math.

We will not send these scores to any other institution unless you request that we do so. Teachers may discuss areas of strength along with opportunities for growth with individual students, but will not review numerical scores in class. Students will take the MAP test again in the spring to measure growth in reading and math.

If you are new to the process or would like a refresher, please refer to the linked videos and guides below to help you interpret results.
