Interim Drama Teacher

Palm Beach Day Academy (PBDA) seeks an Interim Upper Campus Drama teacher (Grades 4-8) for August 24, 2023 through December 15, 2023.

Candidates for this position have significant experience in teaching drama and theater arts in an upper elementary and middle school environment and are familiar with directing and staging dramatic productions for this age group. As one of the school’s flagship programs is the musical, candidates should have experience with musical theater. 

Candidates should be flexible and include a variety of teaching strategies in and out of the classroom in order to be effective for all types of learners. This may include, but is not limited to: hands-on learning; project-based learning; place-based learning; collaborative activities; content reading; discussion; and technology usage. The best candidates will also demonstrate an ability to successfully collaborate with colleagues across disciplines. Flexibility, creativity, a sense of humor, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to being a strong team member are all critically important. 

A Bachelor’s Degree in Performing Arts, Drama, or Theater, or a closely related discipline is a prerequisite for this position. A minimum of two years teaching experience at the upper elementary or middle school level is preferred, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a passion for working with children.
