Palm Beach Day Academy students are looking forward to April 9 and 10, 2012, as they will be hosting students from their partnership school in Hong Kong, Alliance Primary School. Alliance will be traveling with sixty of their students to Palm Beach to stay with our students and their families. While they are here, they will entertain us with a musical performance, as these students are part of their school orchestra. Alliance students will shadow PBDA students in classes, visit the Flagler Museum together and enjoy their host families. There will be an All School Barbecue Dinner for our guests on the last evening, as well as a Friendship Cake, which has become a tradition.
Prior to this visit, ten PBDA students and seven teachers will travel to Hong Kong and Beijing in early March. This is the beginning of our fourth year of the China Partnership, and we continue to form friendships and gain insights about each other. We will be visiting Alliance Primary School in Hong Kong as well as Living Hope Orphanage in Beijing. We will also experience many points of interest in China including Victoria’s Peak, Cheung Chau Island, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, and The Great Wall of China, just to name a few. PBDA students are being exposed to new cultures and beginning to realize that we are all citizens of a global world, while making friendships that may last a lifetime.
